Longtime diversity recommend departs UVM for ancient new role at Carnegie Mellon

Wanda Heading-Grant, UVM’s vice chairman for variety, equity and inclusion, plans to take her skills to a new group after 37 years of fond reminiscences with UVM.


Heading-Grant began her relationship with the University as a scholar in 1983, and now plans to give up her tenure and take a new position at Carnegie Mellon University subsequent fall. 



Heading-Grant became the primary treasurer for the Black Student Union on campus while she became a student, and although her profession is moving someplace else, she said she does now not plan on distancing herself from the UVM community. 


“UVM is my forever family. When I go back, I will now not be returning as a traveler, I might be returning as a family member,” Heading-Grant stated. “I can’t wait to return and see how a great deal UVM has grown.”

UVM Athletics Director, Jeff Schulman said that gender inequity is gift in the athletics department.
